Per the Twins’ press release, Tom will oversee the organization’s operations and will also succeed his uncle, Jim Pohlad, as the team’s official control person and lead liaison to the league. Joe Pohlad had only taken over the executive chair role and day-to-day oversight of the franchise in November of 2022. He called his short time as the team’s executive chair “one of the greatest responsibilities and privileges of my life” before adding that he is “stepping away from my day-to-day role.”
