2025 UT SC Senior Championships
December 4-7, 2025 Human Performance Center, Utah Tech University St. George, UT SCY (25 yards) “2025 UT SC Senior Championships” on Meet MobileThirteen-year-old Jett Hatchard of Omega Aquatics made waves at the 2025 UT SC Senior Championships in St. George, throwing down a pair of massive backstroke times, as the youngest swimmer in each of the boys’ 100 and 200 backstroke finals by at least two years.
In the 100 back, Hatchard qualified for the ‘A’ final in 7th, clocking 52.33, his best time by over eight tenths of a second. Entering finals, Hatchard was the only swimmer in the field under the age of 15. That finals race was a tad slower than his prelims best, stopping the clock in 52.86.
He bettered each of those times with his leadoff 100 in the 400 medley relay, scorching to a best time of 52.23.
The 200 back was a similar story; his prelims time of 1:55.44 annihilated his previous best by over three and a half seconds, slotting him at 5th for the evening’s ‘A’ final.
In the final of the 200 back, the age was stacked against Hatchard, as he was the youngest in the field by two years again. Hatched slashed over two seconds off of his newly set best time and finished 4th overall in 1:53.27.
Hatchard just turned 13 earlier this year and holds several Utah State Swimming records in the 11-12 age group, including the 50 freestyle (23.46), 100 free (50.52), 200 free (1:51.23), 50 back (25.76), 200 back (1:59.01), and 100 IM (57.90).
His 100 back time from these championships put him just over a second off of Jarod Arroyo’s 13-14 Utah record time of 51.01 from 2015.
Hatchard’s 100 back ranks 19th in the 13-14 age group this season, while his 200 back is slotted at 17th.
