Despite what may feel like a repetitive pattern when it comes to the Chicago Bulls, here is one thing that is definitely new around these parts … Me! My name is Joshua Miranda, and I am one of the two new staff writers covering the Bulls for Bleacher Nation.
You can read more about me and my professional history in my author bio (or just check in right here on the site every day). I hope we’re going to be good friends.
Now that we’ve exchanged some pleasantries, let’s talk Bulls basketball!
After what felt like a well-deserved break for Bulls fans tired of watching another losing streak, the Chicago Bulls returned to action this week. However, following a narrow win in Charlotte on Friday, the Bulls are back in the loss column with another disappointing result to the New Orleans Pelicans. The final score was 114-104 in favor of New Orleans. Less than a month ago, a loss to the Pelicans initiated the Bulls’ longest losing streak of the season. I’m hoping this doesn’t start a pattern. There are many things to which you could attribute the latest Bulls’ loss, but the most glaring has to be their bold preference for staying away from the paint. You’d assume that a team that just broke a franchise record on Friday for most field goals made in the paint would try that winning formula again against a team that is the worst at defending inside the arc. You’d assume wrong. There must have been a door left open in the United Center, because both the Pelicans and the Bulls were cold from the field and behind the arc. However, Chicago tried to shoot its way out of their slump rather than take the easy points closer to the basket. They shot 26.5% from three on almost 50 attempts, and honestly, it felt like every one of those shots was a look they settled for. All eleven players who logged minutes last night attempted at least one three, as if they swapped their game plan with the Golden State Warriors. There were a few positives to take away from the night, starting with Josh Giddey, who became the third-quickest player to reach 200 assists this season. With him on the floor last night, the Bulls’ offense looked a little better. But early foul trouble kept Giddey on the bench for longer than he would’ve liked.Per Bulls PR, list of NBA players who have 200 assists this season:Nikola JokicCade CunninghamJosh Giddey

His play late in the third quarter sparked the Bulls’ comeback from a 15-point deficit and gave the fans in the arena a reason to stay for the fourth quarter. In the grand scheme of things, it was too little, too late. But it definitely added to the former Tar Heels’ trade value, after being the headline in many trade rumors.Coby White checking in with 4:38 left. He's 1-10 from 3 but found success late 3rd by attacking rim. Bulls are shooting season-worst % from 3 to this point.
— K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) December 15, 2025 The Chicago Bulls are also (mostly) healthy again. Their CVS receipt-esque injury report is now just down to two, Ayo Dosunmu (thumb) and Noa Essengue (shoulder). However, with everyone back, Nikola Vucevic is seeing his minutes redistributed alongside Zach Collins and Jalen Smith. It’s normally a good thing for a 35-year-old starter to get his rest, but are we seeing a role demotion for Vucci Mane? He was benched in the clutch in the win against the Hornets and finished as the starter with the worst plus/minus in the loss against the Pelicans. Dalen Terry was a bright spot for the Bulls last night, giving them nine points and three rebounds on 80% from the field in just thirteen and a half minutes. He also had 17 assists, off the court, taking members of the Union Park basketball program for a holiday shopping spree. If you need a reason to believe in karma, I’d say this is a good one. twitter.com/bullscommunity/status/1999945428419375475?s=20 The Bulls’ current play may not be “fun” to watch, not just for Bulls fans but also for former players, as well. Joakim Noah took a 10-hour flight to Serbia to watch the ‘Eternal Belgrade Derby’, between the Partizan Mozzart Bet and Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet in the Euroleague. ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst described the atmosphere as “the loudest I’ve ever heard”, adding that Las Vegas is “not even close.” twitter.com/chicagobulls/status/1999577840174411806?s=20 Over the weekend, we also saw another Christmas miracle, the OKC Thunder losing a game. With a second loss on the season, Michael Jordan can rest a little easier knowing there won’t be another team going for his regular-season record. However, All-NBA forward Jalen Williams is already crowning his Thunder team, which just lost to the 18-7 Spurs, as better than both the 73-9 Warriors and 72-10 Bulls. twitter.com/LegionHoops/status/1999870025633812814?s=20 Speaking of living in the shadow of Michael Jordan, actor Michael B.
