CAIRO, Dec 14 (MENA) – The Egyptian Space Agency announced the successful launch of Egypt’s SPNEX satellite, which has entered its designated orbit and begun transmitting initial signals.

SPNEX is a nano-satellite developed entirely by the Egyptian Space Agency in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. It serves as a space-based scientific laboratory to monitor ionospheric plasma; supporting research on solar storms, space weather, and climate, the agency said in a statement on Sunday.

Launched last Wednesday from a spaceport in northwestern China, the satellite has demonstrated stable performance, with its systems operating efficiently, it added.

Its data will soon be made available to Egyptian researchers, according to the statement. (MENA)
