Arizona State and Kenny Dillingham are “close” to agreeing on an amended contract that would raise his base compensation, SunDevilSource.com’s Chris Karpman reported Saturday.
Discussions began at the end of the regular season and continued into the weekend as Dillingham became a betting favorite for the Michigan opening, Karpman added.
The Michigan job unexpectedly opened after Sherrone Moore was fired for cause after two seasons, in which he led the Wolverines to a 17-8 record.
Dillingham was targeted as a young, rising voice with a 2024 College Football Playoff appearance and conference title to his name after ASU entered that season picked last in the Big 12.
He had previously shut down his candidacy for the LSU and Penn State openings after ASU’s win over West Virginia. He went on to tell the Travis Take Two Podcast that he “talked to zero people about any other job” during the season.
