2025 Bob Stallings Aggieland Invitational
November 8, 2025 College Station, TX 25 yards (SCY) Results: Meet Mobile “2025 Bob Stallings Aggieland Invitational”The Bob Stallings Aggieland Invitational brought together some of Texas’s rising talents last month, with the high school team competition seeing a number of top swims from young athletes.
Westwood High School’s Araiya Ferron got heads turning with her performance in the girls’ 50 free. The 14-year-old threw down a lifetime best time of 23.92 during prelims, qualifying for finals in the top spot and marking her first time under 24 seconds.
Ferron knocked over half a second off of her previous personal best in the 50 free (24.44), which she just posted in October. Her performance during prelims puts her at 34th on the ranking of top times this season in the girls’ 13-14 age group. She went on to finish 3rd overall in finals with a time of 24.15.
Ferron delivered a top performance in the 100 fly, claiming the runner-up spot in 56.08 to clock another lifetime best by .88. She also helped her team to a victory in the 200 medley relay and a 2nd-place finish in the 400 free relay.
Ferron was not the only swimmer to turn in top times during the meet in College Station. Gabrielle Allen of McNeil High School posted a series of personal best times and helped bring home two silver medals for her team. She was the runner-up in the 50 free, throwing down a time of 24.09 and narrowly beating out Ferron to take .75 off of her previous lifetime best (24.84) from last season.
Allen delivered a showstopping performance in the 100 free, first setting a best time of 54.89 during prelims before lowering that time even further to a new lifetime best of 53.80 during finals to place 7th overall. Her personal best during finals marked a massive time drop of almost three seconds, as she came into the meet with a best time of 56.69 from November 2024.
Allen has since lowered her times even further to 23.67 and 52.76 in the 50 and 100 free, respectively.
On the boys’ side, Lake Travis High School teammates Ben Liang and Miguel Cervantes dominated the competition by picking up four golds apiece. Liang won the 100 fly (50.13) and 200 IM (1:51.12), clocking season-best times in both events. He also helped his team to victories in the 400 free relay and 200 medley relay, posting a lifetime best time of 46.12 in the 100 free as the leadoff on the 400 free relay.
Cervantes picked up wins in the 200 free and 500 free, posting times of 1:41.78 and 4:37.03 to clock new personal bests in both events. He also joined Liang on the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay, anchoring both races to help clinch the victories for Lake Travis.
Other Notable Performers
Clear Springs High School’s Macey deGroot, who is committed to the University of Arizona, prevailed in both of her individual events. She took home the title in the 100 free (51.61) and the 100 back (54.59), clocking season-best times in each event and winning both races by over a second. DeGroot also helped her team to a victory in the 400 free relay and a 4th-place finish in the 200 medley relay. Kaycee Crawford, a sophomore at James Bowie High School, posted strong performances in the sprint free events, placing 3rd in the 100 free and 4th in the 50 free. She clocked times of 53.20 in the 100 free, in which she was one of the youngest swimmers in the final, and 24.33 in the 50 free, logging lifetime best times in both events. Vista Ridge High School’s Aarez Funaro turned in a handful of top times. He took 3rd in both the 200 free (1:42.44) and 100 breast (58.17), setting new personal best times in both events. His performances knocked over a second off of his lifetime best in the 200 free and shaved over half a second off of his best time in the 100 breast.Top 5 Boys Team Scores
