Flooding is expected to hit several parts of the UK on Monday and Tuesday as forecasters warn of heavy rain and wind across the country.
The Met Office has issued a 24-hour yellow weather warning for Wales and south-west England from 6pm on Monday to the same time on Tuesday, with flooding and travel disruption likely in places.
Up to 40mm is expected in the areas, which could double over Dartmoor and high ground in Wales, causing a possible danger to life from fast-flowing or deep floodwater.
The rainfall could amount to more than half the average monthly rainfall in December in affected areas.
The weather service said: “Outbreaks of rain will become persistent and heavy on Monday night into Tuesday morning, and whilst the rain may be more intermittent during Tuesday daytime, some occasional heavy bursts will still be possible.”
The heavy rain is predicted to be accompanied by strong winds across western Wales and south-west England, possibly causing short power cuts and disrupting public transport.
A yellow warning is in place from 10pm on Monday to 4pm on Tuesday, with winds of up to 50mph expected widely from Hampshire to Cornwall.

Another yellow rain warning is in place across Northern England from midnight on Tuesday to 3pm.
The weather service said 20-40mm of rain was likely over hills in the area, with up to 80mm possible for Cumbria.
Strong winds were also forecasted, with routes across the Pennines being particularly affected.
Another yellow wind warning has been issued for north-west Scotland, with the Met Office urging caution around coasts where large breaking waves could sweep people out to sea, even from the shore.
Wind gusts of up to 60mph are forecasted, rising to 70mph on exposed coasts and causing possible delays to road, air and ferry transport.
