ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In the short term, a low-pressure system will pass south of Rochester for Monday night and Tuesday. This should produce an area wide with a minor accumulation of snow into Tuesday morning. In the longer term, the weather pattern appears to bring an extended period of unseasonally cold weather. In general terms, this long term chill could last through at least the middle of December.
Tonight, look for Lake Erie snow showers with an inch or less accumulation, mainly west of Rochester. It will be a gusty wind with the temperature falling in the middle 20s. Monday appears to be a decent day, but rather chilly for early December. Some sun for the morning with more clouds for the afternoon. The high temperature will only be near 31 degrees.
For Monday night an area wide light snow arrives with an inch or two possible by Tuesday morning. The low temperature will be in the mid-20s. Tuesday the snow showers move east and come to an end with the temperature in the lower 30s.
