ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A four-alarm fire broke out at a waste management building on Emerson Street in Rochester Friday afternoon.
Lt. Jackie Sierra from the fire department says the call came in at around 3:14 p.m. Friday for a report of a fire inside a commercial building, with the fire being deep in the building.
Due to the building being in a more rural area and deep into the building, Sierra says it took extra resources to battle the fire, making it a four-alarm fire.
As of 4:40 p.m., crews were still working to put out the fire. Sierra advises people stay away from the area of Emerson Street and Lee Road for the next couple of hours.
According to Sierra, some employees were inside when the fire broke out, but they were able to get out safely. Nobody was hurt.
