ROCHESTER, N.Y. — An Irondequoit man has been arrested after Rochester Police say he tried to assault someone and was later found with a handgun and drugs.
Early morning Wednesday, police say they were trying to find a wanted suspect, 31-year-old Omar Muhammad.
According to police, Muhammad was wanted for breaking down the door of a former domestic partner, and tried to menace her with a handgun, steal property, and assault her on Nov. 2.
At around 2 a.m. Wednesday, police say they were able to find Muhammad leaving a car in the area of Lexington Avenue and arrest him.
Police say while investigating, they found a loaded handgun and over nine ounces of suspected cocaine and fentanyl mixture.
Muhammad was charged with robbery, burglary, assault, and grand larceny for his actions on Nov. 2. He is also facing various drug and weapon charges.
Muhammad was brought to the Monroe County Jail and is set to be arraigned Wednesday.
