Fantasy Football RB Rankings, Who Should I Add Off Waiver Wires:

Kenneth Gainwell (Steelers) was the highest-recommended RB waiver wire pickup this week.

 Analysis

Chris Rodriguez, Commanders — Rostered in 12% of Yahoo Leagues (Suggested 8-10% FAAB Bid)

If you’d been holding onto the dregs of Jacory Croskey-Merritt hope, the last few swirled down the drain on Sunday in Spain. Chris Rodriguez racked up 15 carries for 79 yards — compared to just nine for 28 for “Bill” — and was the clear starter and lead back for most of the game. This came a week after Rodriguez started as the top back but had to leave with a shoulder injury against the Lions.

Given his playstyle, Rodriguez would be far more lucrative if the Commanders were playing with a lead and winning football games, but he’s still a must-add as an NFL starting running back. He has a bye next week, and his final box score from Sunday doesn’t leave quite the impression his tape did, so you probably don’t need to spend up to acquire Rodriguez. But you should do it. He has league-winning potential in a couple of fantasy playoff games.

Recommendation: Should be added in 10-team leagues

Who are the best stashes from the Fantasy Football RB Rankings?

Devin Neal and Raheem Mostert are the best running back stashes ahead of Week 13.

Devin Neal, RB – Saints (4%)

Targeting running backs on a team that is more often than not projected for less than 20 points isn’t always a winning tactic, but if you’re looking to bolster your depth with someone who has 20-25 opportunity upside, Devin Neal is your guy.

Our Jeff Mueller expects Alvin Kamara’s MCL Sprain to take 2-3 weeks to heal, but, like him, I tend to think this could be a scenario where the two-win Saints simply shut him down and evaluate the rookie. With Kendre Miller (again) on the IR, the team was forced to run Taysom Hill into the back of the offensive line 10 times for 17 yards, but with an entire week(s) of planning, we’d have to hope that won’t be the case again.

Neal doesn’t offer a ton of upside here, but his floor should keep him in RB3 consideration, potentially through the rest of the season.

Raheem Mostert, RB – Raiders (1%)

As opposed to Neal above, Raheem Mostert would very much be a short-term stash, as Ashton Jeanty is basically the only positive thing going for the Las Vegas Raiders right now, so they’re likely to push him back to the field, for better or worse. Jeanty’s seemingly minor injury occurred late in the game (3:39 in the 4Q), so we don’t really have a lot of information to work off of.

However, Mostert is very likely to be the next man up, considering Dylan Laube has only seen one offensive snap since Week 7, and Zamir White hasn’t seen a snap in any capacity since Week 5. The veteran would be a desperation play against the Chargers, but he will presumably have a whole lot of passing-game work on a team currently clocking in as 10-point home underdogs, and I’m sure some of us have deep enough leagues where seven RB targets would be a godsend.
