Kevin Durant out of Suns-Rockets game for ‘family matter,’ Phoenix return now on hold ...Middle East

Sport by : (Arizona sports) -

Suns fan eager to see Houston Rockets’ Kevin Durant make his anticipated return to Phoenix will have to wait at least until April as he will reportedly miss Monday’s game due to a “family matter.”

ESPN’s Shams Charania added that Durant will also be absent from Wednesday’s game against the Golden State Warriors.

Durant has yet to miss a game so far in the Rockets’ 10-4 start to the season, which has them currently in fifth place in the Western Conference standings, one spot ahead of the Suns (10-6).

The six-time All-NBA First Team player has averaged 24.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 36.1 minutes per game.

Durant is Houston’s leading scorer and is shooting 48.5% from the field.

He last played in Phoenix on March 30 against Houston of all teams, and had 11 points, seven rebounds and one assist in a blowout loss. After the 2024-25 season, Durant was part of a seven-team trade in which the Suns received Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

After two road contests in Houston on Dec. 5 and Jan. 5, the Rockets and KD will not visit the Suns until April 7, the fourth-to-last game of the regular season and the final of the teams’ season series.
