For seven seasons, Deschanel played Jessica Day on New Girl opposite Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone, and Lamorne Morris. Deschanel is also the "She" in the pop band, She & Him. She hails from an entertainment family. Her parents are cinematographer Caleb Deschanel and actress Mary Jo Deschanel. Her older sister is Bones actress, Emily Deschanel. She is best known for her roles in Elf, 500 Days of Summer, and Tin Man, a sci-fi re-imagining of The Wizard of Oz.
