It’s only a matter of time before Coby White is splashing clutch threes as his luscious locks bounce in the wind.
For the first time since he attempted to ramp up ahead of the regular season tip-off, Coby White practiced in full with the Chicago Bulls. To be sure, the team has yet to announce a return date, but all signs seemingly point to the 25-year-old suiting up at some point over the next week. The only problem for the Bulls is that they are set to play an exhausting five games in seven days. There is no question that this will impact how they handle White’s immediate return, and fans can likely expect some built-in rest for the guard during this stretch. The other good news out of yesterday’s practice was that Josh Giddey also worked out with the team in full. The jumbo guard missed the Bulls’ last two meetings, which each resulted in a loss. Chicago even dished a season-low 21 assists during their disappointing defeat in Detroit on Wednesday. Chicago Bulls Injury Up A Coby White Return is Just Around the Corner The Chicago Bulls shared a few clips from practice, which featured our first real look at Coby White getting up and down the floor. He also continued to sound confident about immediately fitting back into what this team has built: “It’s been tough for me, but I’m just excited to have a chance to get back out there and play the game I love. I’m always looking through the game with a lens of how can I help? How can I impact winning in the team in a positive way? That’s how my mind is whether I’m playing or whether I’m not playing,” White says in the video.Gotta take care of business out West.@Gatorade | #SeeRed pic.twitter.com/AoHPKzpUT9
— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) November 14, 2025 As we’ve discussed before, the Bulls’ identity is largely built with Coby White in mind. Yes, it builds off the strengths of Josh Giddey and his playmaking prowess, but the team’s overall tempo and downhill aggressiveness fit extremely well with White’s skillset. The same can be said about the consistent off-ball movement. Nobody on this team is better at hustling to a spot behind the arc to set up the catch-and-shoot triple. That’s what continues to make White such a fascinating player and potential building block for this organization. As great as he has become with the ball in his hands, he is one of the few scoring guards who can often be equally as effective without it. I think we can attribute a lot of that to the many different roles he’s been forced to play for this team over the years. Indeed, look at last season’s post-All-Star-break success alongside Josh Giddey. At no point did it feel like these two were at odds on the offensive end, which is something Bulls fans grew very used to with Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan. Instead, these two played some of the best basketball of their careers while sharing the court. White averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists on 49.4 percent shooting from the field from Feb. 20 to the end of the season. As for Giddey, he averaged 21.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 9.3 assists over this stretch and shot 50.0 percent from the field. These two performed like one of the top backcourt duos in the NBA over that month and a half, which is why many are eager to see these two together again. The stat that really spoke volumes about the balance these two had down the stretch was their individual usage ratings. Coby White sat at 26.6 percent after the All-Star break, which only ranked in the league’s 72nd percentile. Giddey registered only a slightly higher 28.8 percent usage rating, which was in the 74th percentile. In other words, neither player was dominating possessions or short-changing the other. They were both able to find a rhythm while sharing the ball and playing off one another. Now, keeping that up is a challenge within itself, but I like their chances! © Sam Navarro-Imagn Images Some pretty big injury news ahead as the Bulls head out West. — chuck swirsky (@ctsbulls) November 15, 2025 I think social media has taken John Wall’s viral comments about Anthony Davis slightly out of context. I know, shocking! Many have shared the clip of him on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back, where he suggests that Anthony Davis may want to go back to his hometown (aka Chicago). However, I’m not sure Wall was actually sharing any direct knowledge or insight. If you really listen to the full comment, it sounds as if Wall could have merely been referring to all the online buzz around the topic. We saw plenty of fake trades over social media, as well as a top analyst like Zach Lowe throw around the idea.“You can’t believe everything you hear on the news, but you’ve been hearing he wants to go back to Chicago and see what’s going on. So I think they will try to blow it up, build around Cooper Flagg, get rid of the other pieces. But I have them as one of those darkhorse teams. If they can stay healthy, keep AD there, and let Kyrie come back, they could be one of those teams in the West.”
Many have conveniently left out the “you can’t believe everything you hear on the news” part when sharing the quote, which feels pretty darn important to me! So am I crazy for thinking that he is just speculating like the rest of us? Anyway, I shared a lot more thoughts on all the Davis chatter earlier this week. In short, this doesn’t feel like the right time nor the right move for this franchise. Manifesting Matas!Welcome to Matas Buzelis’ Ted Talk: pic.twitter.com/rv65c9uIwQ
