Caleb Williams in Clutch Moments: This is What I Live For ...Middle East

Sport by : (Bleacher Nation) -

Caleb Williams is on an absolute heater right now.

The Chicago Bears quarterback has engineered improbable game-winning touchdown drives in each of his last two games. He is on pace to be the franchise’s first 4,000-yard passer, has the team vying for a playoff spot with a 6-3 record after nine games, and was just named the NFLPA Community MVP for Week 11. So, as you might expect, Caleb Williams was front and center a bunch in the newest episode of the team’s 1920 Football Drive web series.

The latest installment of the Bears’ 1920 Football Drive series on YouTube is worth your time. And I would encourage you to watch it in its entirety when you get an opporunity to do so. In the meantime, I wanted to specifically highlight this segment:

These words from Caleb Williams brought me joy: “When it comes to those moments, it’s time to win the game. I think that’s what I live for.”

Being an NFL quarterback is hard work. But being the quarterback for a quarterback-starved franchise like the Bears amplifies the challenges. It takes someone with real gumption to take on that challenge head-on — and Caleb Williams is doing it. Not only is he doing it, he is thriving in these pressure-packed situations. In short, WIlliams is playing like a quarterback who was worthy of being selected with the first overall pick in his draft class.

Anecdotally, we’ve seen Caleb Williams come through with big plays in crunch time. That has been fun to follow. With that being said, it is also worth underscoring that the numbers back it up. These are QB1’s numbers in the clutch (via Pro Football Reference):

Fourth quarter stats: 40/68, 574 yards, 4 TD, 1 INT, 100.0 rating Trailing, < 2 min: 5/11, 127 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT, 118.4 rating; 5 carries, 35 yd, 1 TD Trailing, < 4 min: 11/19, 225 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT, 139.3 rating; 6 carries, 48 yd, 1 TD

I do not think you can ask for more from Caleb Williams right now. And yet, I want to because I feel as if Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson is pushing Williams hard to reach another level. Plus, it feels like Williams is pushing himself to be better. For as long as I can remember, Bears fans have wanted to pair an offensive-minded head coach with a young quarterback with upside. It finally happened in 2025, and I think this is what we were imagining it would look like when it happened. And to think, the best could still be yet to come.

CALEB WILLIAMS IS READY FOR ANOTHER CHESS MATCH WITH BRIAN FLORES

The upcoming stretch for Caleb Williams and the Bears will not be for the faint of heart. There are potential revenge games against division rivals (Week 11 vs. Vikings) and playoff contenders( Week 12 vs. Steelers, Week 13 at Eagles, Weeks 14 and 16 vs. Packers, Week 17 at Niners, and Week 18 vs. Lions) on what appears to be a loaded back-end of the schedule. In other years, a daunting stretch like this would have been a cause for concern. But with this quarterback playing well, anything feels possible.
