‘Andrew begs Maxwell to back him’ and Trump named in 20,000 leaked Epstein files ...Middle East

News by : (inews) -

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor appeared to plead for Jeffrey Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell to clear his name as details emerged over his links to the disgraced financier, a cache of leaked documents has revealed.

Three emails were released by Democrats on the US House of Representatives’ main investigative committee on Wednesday, including conversations between the convicted sex offender, Maxwell and Donald Trump biographer Michael Wolff.

In one of the emails, Epstein claimed Trump “spent hours” with one of his victims. In another, the disgraced financier told Wolff that Trump “knew about the girls”, without providing further detail about what the reference relates to.

The White House hit back at the emails released by the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, saying they were “selectively leaked” and sought to “create a fake narrative to smear President Trump”.

Trump also accused the Democrats of “trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect” attention away from the US government shutdown, which he claimed they caused.

The committee, which is led by Republicans, released over 20,000 pages of documents relating to Epstein.

Among them was an email sent from a username called “The Duke [redacted]” to Maxwell, in which the sender said: “I can’t take any more of this”, urging her to tell people “I knew nothing about this”.

Here, The i Paper takes a closer look at the revelations made through the latest cache of leaked documents.

‘The Duke’ calls on Maxwell for backing

One leaked email exchange between Maxwell and “The Duke” dates back to 4 March 2011 – days after a photograph of Mountbatten-Windsor and his accuser, Virginia Giuffre, was made public.

In the email exchange, the sender asked Maxwell: “What’s all this? I don’t know anything about this!

“You must SAY so please. This has NOTHING to do with me. I can’t take any more of this.”

The sender’s name is redacted and it is not clear whether Mountbatten-Windsor sent the email.

The former prince has continued to deny any allegations made against him. Buckingham Palace has been contacted for a comment.

A separate email dating back to March 2011 is a request from BBC Radio 4’s Today programme to Epstein’s attorney Jack Goldberger for an interview with the disgraced financier about “stories which are circulating, however inaccurately, about both him and Prince Andrew, the Duke of York”.

Goldberger appeared to forward the email onto Epstein, who passed it on to Peter Mandelson – the former UK ambassador to the US who was sacked over his links to the convicted paedophile.

Mandelson appeared to respond: “No!!”

Mandelson contacted Epstein as late as 2016

The released documents also contain an apparent email exchange between Epstein and Mandelson dating back to 6 November 2016, in which the disgraced financier said: “63 years old. You made it”.

Mandelson, whose birthday was a week and a half beforehand, appeared to reply less than 90 minutes later, saying: “Just. I have decided to extend my life by spending more of it in the US”.

Epstein replied “in the Donald White House”, referring to the US presidential election due later that week.

He went on to say “you were right about staying away from Andrew. I was right in your staying with Rinaldo [sic]”, a reference to Lord Mandelson’s now husband Reinaldo Avilda da Silva.

In September this year, Mandelson said he continued “to feel utterly awful about my association with Epstein 20 years ago and the plight of his victims”.

Mandelson was sacked as the UK’s ambassador to the US after the publication of emails showed he had sent supportive messages to Epstein after the US financier had pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from a minor in June 2008.

Mandelson has not been accused of any wrongdoing or criminality in connection with Epstein.

Epstein victim ‘spent hours’ with Trump

In another email dated 2 April, 2011, Epstein told Maxwell: “i want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump.. [REDACTED] spent hours at my house with him,, he has never once been mentioned. police chief. etc. im 75 % there.”

Maxwell responded: “I have been thinking about that…”

White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt said on the latest release: “The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.

“The ‘unnamed victim’ referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and “couldn’t have been friendlier” to her in their limited interactions.

“The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre.

The email exchanges largely predate Trump’s time as US president. Trump did also not receive or send any message, nor has he been accused of any wrongdoing or criminality in connection with Epstein.

Trump ‘knew about the girls’

In another email exchange, Epstein appeared to tell Wolff that Trump “knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop”.

The email, dated 31 January, 2019, also showed Epstein denying claims that Trump banished him from Mar-a-Lago, the President’s Florida estate.

“Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever,” Epstein allegedly told Wolff. “Of course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop.”

Wolff has not yet commented on the email.

Commenting on the release, Leavitt said: “These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again.”

Trump and White House deny ‘Jeffrey Epstein Hoax’

Posting on Truth Social after the release of the documents, Trump said: “The Democrats are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown, and so many other subjects.

“Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap.”

He accused the Democrats of costing the US “$1.5 Trillion Dollars with their recent antics of viciously closing our Country”.

Trump added: “There should be no deflections to Epstein or anything else, and any Republicans involved should be focused only on opening up our Country, and fixing the massive damage caused by the Democrats!”

When asked about the trove of documents in a press briefing after their release, Leavitt said they prove “absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong”.

She also accused the Democrats of launching a “distraction campaign” to divert attention away from US government shutdown.

“There are no coincidences in Washington DC, and is is not a coincidence that the Democrats leaked these emails to the fake news this morning,” she said.

The i Paper has contacted Mandelson, Buckingham Palace and the White House for a comment.
