Prairie View A&M’s Cameron Peters and the Florida A&M Rattlers were selected on Monday as the Stats Perform HBCU National Player and Team of the Week, respectively, for Week 11 FCS college football games this past weekend.
The weekly football honors lead up to the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Show on Jan. 3 in Nashville, Tennessee. The season-ending awards are in their 39th year.
The Week 11 honorees and honorable mention selections for HBCU FCS football awards:
HBCU FCS National Player of the Week
Cameron Peters, Prairie View A&M, QB, Sr., 6-4, 207
Peters completed 17-of-22 passes for 394 yards and five touchdowns as PVAMU won 48-5 at Alabama A&M to maintain its lead in the SWAC West Division. Three of the scores went to wide receiver Jyzaiah Rockwell. Peters’ 302.7 passer rating was the FCS season’s highest for a quarterback facing a Division I opponent and his 23.2 yards per completion the third-highest against the same level of competition.

HBCU FCS National Team of the Week
Florida A&M (31-28 win at Arkansas-Pine Bluff)
FAMU built a 10-point lead three different times in the second half while improving to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the SWAC. Thad Franklin Jr. carried the ball 26 times for 122 yards and a touchdown, and RJ Johnson III passed for 235 yards and two TDs. Linebacker Brian Norris Jr. collected a team-high seven tackles and a sack for coach James Colzie III’s squad.
