New York Giants Injury Report: Multiple Starters Ahead of Sunday’s Matchup ...Middle East

Sport by : (Bleacher Nation) -

The New York Giants will come to Soldier Field on Sunday severely shorthanded, and the biggest news of their final injury report centers on special teams.

Veteran kicker Graham Gano, who is dealing with a herniated disc in his neck, did not practice for the third straight day and has been ruled out for Week 10. That means Chicago will see practice-squad kicker Younghoe Koo elevated into the starting role. He is the fourth different kicker the Giants have used this season.

It’s yet another setback for Gano, whose last three years have been defined by injuries. He missed the final nine games of 2023 with a knee issue, seven more last year with a groin injury, and already spent four games on IR this season with another groin problem. New York has been patching the position together for weeks, even using punter Jamie Gillan for an emergency extra point back in Week 3. Now they enter Soldier Field with no stability at kicker in a matchup where they can’t afford to leave points on the field.

Beyond the kicking situation, the Giants officially ruled out five additional players, all starters or heavy rotational pieces. Cornerback Paulson Adebo (knee) will miss his third straight game, further thinning a secondary already struggling to hold up in man coverage. Starting center John Michael Schmitz (shin) and rookie wideout Beaux Collins (neck) are also out, leaving an already inconsistent offense without its pivot man and one of its young perimeter targets. Defensive lineman Chauncey Golston (neck) — who has appeared in just four games since signing a three-year deal — is also unavailable, along with inside linebacker Darius Muasau (ankle).

The Giants listed edge rusher Victor Dimukeje (shoulder) as doubtful, meaning New York could be without yet another pass rusher in a week where they badly need disruption to slow Caleb Williams. Meanwhile, right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (pec) and safety Jevon Holland (knee) are questionable after both missed last week’s loss to the 49ers. Their availability will be worth monitoring, as Eluemunor’s absence would further compromise an offensive line that has already cycled through multiple configurations this season.
