ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We’ve got a grey and cool morning in WNY with the breeze expected to pick up and a line of showers expected this afternoon. No wind damage expected or flood threats, so we’re still Green on the Threat Tracker. Rain should transition to spotty showers for the evening into the night. We’ll be warmer today, with highs in the mid to upper 50s.
Cloudy and cooler with brief showers possible on Saturday, then Sunday is going to be interesting as a low pressure system moves through, bringing us rain during the day transitioning to snow in the cooler, higher elevations after sunset. Rochester also has a chance to see its first flakes then, though we are closely monitoring the chances for that.
As low pressure moves off Monday and Tuesday, wind will become northerly to westerly, so Monday wrap-around moisture and lake enhanced snow showers are in the forecast. Little to no accumulation expected, but tune in over the next few days for updates. Better chances for accumulating snow on Tuesday, especially along the lakeshore. Right now it’s hard to call how much snow will fall in total Monday and Tuesday, but the timing may impact the morning commute both days. Check back in again for updates, and keep your eye on the Threat Tracker. It’s also a good time to download our weather app as we’ll be sending out frequent updates about chances for snow.
