Bonus points count double in FPL Challenge GW11. We comb through the Opta data to find the top players to target this week in the Premier League.
Do you even play Fantasy Premier League if you’ve never asked, “How many bonus points are they on for?”
The Bonus Points System (BPS) is the game within the game. Beyond goals, assists and clean sheets, players can earn additional points based on their overall performance.
The BPS uses a range of detailed Opta data to assess every player’s contribution on the pitch. Every action is assigned a value that feeds into a total performance score.
At the end of each match, the three highest-scoring players in the BPS receive bonus points; three for the top performer, two for second place, and one for third. Those points are then doubled in FPL Challenge GW11.
If you want to dive deeper into how the scores are calculated, the Premier League’s official explainer can be found here.
This Season’s Bonus-Point Leaders
Unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland leads the way for total bonus points this season with 23. That’s almost double the next-best tally, held by Gabriel Magalhães (13). Those two are followed by João Pedro (11), Ryan Gravenberch (10) and Declan Rice (10).
When viewed on a per-90 basis, though, some other names stand out. Junior Kroupi’s recent performances have been particularly eye-catching, with his 1.59 BPS per 90 making him one of most efficient bonus-point earners.
Still, it’s worth remembering that BPS is closely tied to underlying performance. Players who deliver attacking or defensive returns are always the most likely to return bonus points for our teams.
Goalkeeper
Jordan Pickford: Everton vs Fulham (H)
Fulham’s away form has been pretty dire so far in 2025-26. They’ve lost four and drawn one of their five away matches, scoring just four times in the process. In fact, their return of one point on the road is the joint-worst in the league (level with Wolves).
Everton are a far more robust team at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with all three of their clean sheets this season coming at home. Jordan Pickford looks a solid bet for a shutout.
Defender
Gabriel Magalhães: Arsenal vs Sunderland (A)
Rinse and repeat. As we discussed earlier this week, Arsenal’s defensive numbers this season are astounding. They’ve kept eight consecutive clean sheets and could set a new club record if they manage another against Sunderland.
Gabriel Magalhães himself has averaged 1.30 bonus points per 90, the joint-third-highest rate in the Premier League. He’s also the game’s second-highest overall points scorer. Behind Haaland, he is arguably the most valuable asset in the game right now.
Midfielder
Antoine Semenyo: Bournemouth vs Aston Villa (A)
With attractive midfield options like Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo off-limits given we can only pick one player per club (Chelsea pick to come), we’ve turned to Antoine Semenyo this week.
Semenyo’s blistering early-season form has cooled slightly, but he remains Bournemouth’s most direct attacking threat. He comes up against an Aston Villa side who have conceded the third-highest proportion of their chances down their right of all teams in the Premier League this season, and that’s the zone in which Semenyo typically operates.
The Cherries show no signs of being hesitant on the road either, with only Chelsea (29) registering more shots on target away from home than their 24. It’s Bournemouth’s second-best ratio in a Premier League season (4.8 per game), behind only last year’s 5.2.

Erling Haaland: Manchester City vs Liverpool (H)
A goal machine, a bonus-point machine and, well, an actual machine?
With Haaland closing in on becoming the fastest player ever to reach 100 Premier League goals, there’s no way we can leave him out.
Jean-Philippe Mateta: Crystal Palace vs Brighton (H)
When Crystal Palace play at Selhurst Park, Jean-Philippe Mateta is close to a lock. The French forward has scored four goals in his last two home games, and since Oliver Glasner took charge, only Haaland (25) has scored more home goals than him (22).
He has six goals in 10 games this season, with only Andrew Johnson in 2004-05 (7) ever scoring more in Crystal Palace’s opening 10 matches of a Premier League campaign.
Mateta’s 0.83 expected goals per 90 ranks second in the league, underlining how regularly he finds high-quality chances.
João Pedro: Chelsea vs Wolves (H)
João Pedro looks an excellent pick as Chelsea host a managerless, bottom-of-the-table Wolves side that has conceded a league-high 22 goals.
João Pedro was lively against Tottenham last time out, scoring the winner, and was withdrawn early in midweek Champions League action, suggesting he’ll be fresh for this one.
We’ve documented Wolves’ defensive issues in detail on the site this week, and this fixture offers a prime opportunity for the Brazilian to capitalise.
