As the College Football Playoff nears and the 2025 season heads to November, the Southeastern Conference has as many as 9 teams theoretically alive to earn one of the 12 available berths according to SEC Network studio anchor Peter Burns
Burns checked back in Sunday with his updated SEC College Football Playoff Tiers after Week 9 play, noting that at least 3 teams are destined for a CFP berth and 6 more could make the postseason as well.
Texas A&M is the lone unbeaten team remaining in the SEC, and the Aggies join 1-loss Alabama and 1-loss Ole Miss in Burns’s elite teams. One step behind is 1-loss Vanderbilt and 1-loss Georgia.
