This is the 52nd annual Daytime Emmys, an awards event that came onto the scene 25 years after its counterpart, the Primetime Emmy Awards, which highlights the best in primetime television each year. In case you need a little refresher on how to tune in, remember that the Daytime Emmys will not be televised on a broadcast network. Instead, you can watch the event’s stream at watch.theemmys.tv or through The Emmys app, which can be found on iOS and Android, as well as Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Chromecast, and Fire TV.
There will be a total of 41 awards given out at the ceremony from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which highlights excellence in talk shows, daytime dramas, instructional programs, culinary programs, legal and courtroom programs, and hosting. This year, the Daytime Emmys will also introduce several new categories, including Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series, Outstanding Regional Content in a Daytime Genre, and Outstanding Culinary Cultural Series.
But whether we’re at the Primetimes or the Daytimes, the fashion is on point… at least most of the time. Without further ado, here’s the best and worst dressed celebrities at this year’s Daytime Emmys.

General Hospital star Steve Burton's wife looked absolutely stunning in this perfectly tailored low-cut gown with ruched detailing and a shawl. A really radiant look to celebrate such a major event — and it might be the best of the night.

It's painful to give this legend and icon such a lukewarm reception when it comes to her look, because the color is actually stunning on her — and most of the gown works beautifully. But the shoulder and neckline details feel very sloppy here; Had those been more defined and well-crafted, this would've been a knock-out look.

The daytime judge laid down the fashion law tonight with this gorgeous gown. The sequin and sparkle details don't overtake the dress, but the feather cap sleeves add just enough of an extra flair. Plus, the color of the gown works wonderfully with her red hair — and it fits like a glove. That's the verdict!

This is a fierce look in theory, but the main issue here is that white skirt. It doesn't blend well with the cut-out corset top because of its shape and length, and that bunching at the bottom makes the outfit look more costume than couture. That said, if those issues were resolved, this would be a beautiful dress.

Simplicity is sometimes your best friend on the red carpet, and McCord's gorgeous red gown is a great example. The cape-like sleeves give the dress a little something extra without going overboard and the color looks great on her. Plus, those tan heels match nicely but make sure not to take attention away from the gown. Less is, indeed, more.

This is a difficult cut for anyone, and all in all, Case is rocking it — but the lack of definition in the gown's cut doesn't do any favors, and the color is fairly blasé. However, the real style sin here is Case's accessories. The pearl necklace and the clear bangles look unfortunately close to costume jewelry and it brings the look down quite a bit.

Who doesn't love a good color gradient? This gown has a beautiful color scheme that works perfectly with her skin tone and the different styles of sequins give the gown a really fun and elevated feel. Plus, her diamond earrings and matching silver pumps tie the whole look together. It's a really gorgeous red carpet outfit — and her smile is the icing on the cake.

From the waist down, this gown (and those shoes!) is gorgeous — but from the waist up? We've got problems. The top of this dress more closely resembles a long-sleeved shirt than formal wear and it feels particularly ill-tailored in the arms and armpit areas. Had this been a little more form-fitting and with a more defined neckline, this could've been a real winner as far as red carpet looks go. As Adele once said, we could've had it all.

Someone is looking stunning in blue tonight! This gown is pulling out all the stops, but in a way that screams subtle beauty. It is gorgeously crafted along the waist and the bust, and the rich color works beautifully. Plus, that leg slit takes it up a notch but still keeps it classy and couture. It feels like a modern day Greek noblewoman's gown and it really gives Sherrod a regal air.

The color on this dress is stunning, and the bodice of the gown could be truly gorgeous... if it was attached to another skirt. The overlay of mismatched materials and the baubles on the middle tier and again on the hem make this gown feel a little too homecoming or high school prom. If only the dress made more use of the bodice material, or even the ruched tulle feature on the back, for its skirt.
