Georgia vs Auburn Meet Highlights

Auburn started the meet with a win in the 200 freestyle relay thanks to another massive swim from Lisa Klevanovich, who dropped even more time to swim 21.88 to lead the team off. This swim will move her up to 4th in the country this season. Klevanovich also won the 100 freestyle in 48.39, just four tenths off her lifetime best of 48.00, and the 50 free in 22.05.

Georgia freshman Elizabeth Nawrocki had a huge drop in the women’s 200 breaststroke, swimming 2:09.96 to drop nearly three seconds from her previous best of 2:12.76 from March of 2024. She won the event and will now sit in 3rd this season behind Emma Weber and Piper Enge. This time is about four tenths from the NCAA cutline in the event last season, which sits at 2:09.58.

The 200 breast was all about the freshman with Auburn freshman Maston Ballew setting a new personal best time in the 200 breast of 1:54.98. His previous best came from the SMU Classic last weekend, where he swam 1:55.77 to drop just over a second-and-a-half from the 1:57.14 he swam at the Speedo Southern Premier last March.

Auburn had another strong performance in the women’s medley relay with Lora Komoroczy swimming 51.84 in the 100 backstroke, the 7th fastest time in the country. This swim is just a hundredth slower than the 51.83 she swam at the end of October last year.

Georgia had an excellent men’s 400 medley relay, starting with Ruard van Renen swimming 45.02 on the backstroke leg, which is 3rd this season behind Adam Chaney and Luca Urlando. Elliot Woodburn swam 51.24 on the breaststroke leg. Urlando split a massive 44.11 on the fly, and Tomas Koski was 42.29 on the freestyle to bring them home in 3:02.66

George Washington vs Minnesota Meet Highlights

This meet was far less close than the championship meet, with the Minnesota Gophers running away with the win.

They started with the top spot in the 200 freestyle relay with the fastest split going to Morgan Thomas‘ 22.08 in the 2nd leg. Thomas also won the 100 free in 49.32, and she swam on the winning 400 medley relay, splitting 49.62 on the anchor leg

Minnesota junior Katie McCarthy won the 200 fly in 1:58.44 and the 500 free in 4:47.17. Her 200 fly swim was a new best time, marking her first time under 2:00 in the event as she dropped two seconds from her previous best of 2:00.22 from March of 2022. She has swum the event twice in college, going 2:04s both times.

John Watson won the men’s 200 breaststroke for the Gophers in 1:58.35. He typically doesn’t swim the event that often during the season, but last year at his first meet, he swam 2:05.15 which is nearly seven seconds slower than he was today.

George Washington’s AJ Wood won the men’s 100 free in 44.41, which is his 3rd fastest swim in the event ever. He has only been faster at last year’s Atlantic 10 Championships, where he swam 43.91 and 43.88.

Freshman Kayla Barr won the women’s 200 IM in 2:02.67, which is just one hundredth off her lifetime best of 2:02.66 in the event from February of last year.
