ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The ROC City Skate Park is expanding.
On Thursday morning, the City of Rochester broke ground on the final phase of park upgrades. The park first opened to the public in November 2020.
In 2023, the city got a $3 million grant to upgrade the park. The project will expand the park’s skateable area by 20,000 square feet, and also add more lighting and event space.
The upgrades to the park is part of the ROC the Riverway initiative, which includes revitalizing the Genesee River corridor in Rochester.
