Luke Littler has clashed with a fan who sent a crude message on social media towards female darts star Beau Greaves.
The 18-year-old was beaten in a thriller by Greaves in the semi-finals of the World Youth Championship on Monday.
He opted to compete in the event for players under the age of 24 just a day after winning the World Grand Prix at the weekend.
Littler beat Luke Humphries in the final and claimed a £120,000 prize, but wasted no time in getting back into action.
After easing through the group stage, the teen sensation then beat Charlie Manby and Jamai van den Herik to reach the semis.
And that’s where he met women’s world No.1 Greaves, who pulled off a very impressive result.
The 21-year-old knocked out Littler and booked her place in the World Youth Championship final, which takes place in November.
She will take on 2024 winner Gian van Veen after the upset, as her stock in the sport continues to rise.
Littler posted a classy message to Greaves on social media following his loss, praising her performance and world-class talent.
However, Littler then had to step in to hit back at a fan who posted a sexist reply about his opponent.
The commenter wrote: “We don’t need this. Women should not compete with men, no matter how good they are.”

By beating Littler, Greaves made history by becoming the first woman to reach the World Youth Championship final.
She is also already a three-time WDF women’s world champion and a two-time Women’s World Matchplay winner.
Greaves is also now set to compete at the PDC World Championship in December and is reported to be accepting a PDC Tour card.
That has led to some praise from men’s World No.1 Humphries, who said: “I think she’s an amazing player and she deserves it [a PDC Tour card]. I predict that she’ll flourish playing in it.
“She’s been a really great player on the secondary tours this year. She’s good on the challenge tour, good on the development tour and she’ll be a real threat going forward for all the players. Not just for me but for everyone.
“I think she’ll do really well. If she’s relaxed and she’s got no pressure on her shoulders yes, I believe she will be top 64 within the two years for sure.”

Meanwhile, for Littler, after his loss to Greaves he has announced that he will be working with a new management team.
He had previously confirmed that he had split with his former management ZXF Sports before the World Grand Prix.
And he then went on to hint that he’d be working by himself from now on – but that’s not the case.
He will instead be working with manufacturer Target Darts, as Littler posted: “Target have been with me from the start and proud to have them managing me now. Onwards with the best brand in the game.”

“Luke has been part of the Target family since he was 12, and we’re excited to keep supporting him on and off the oche as he continues his incredible journey.”
