Nancy “Lynne” Harrison passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on October 10, 2025.
Born on March 9, 1948, in Brush Creek, Tennessee, to Bud and Audrey Greene, Lynne was the youngest of six children. The baby of the family, and often the favorite, she became the glue that kept everyone connected, always planning get-togethers and checking in on her loved ones.
A lifelong educator, Lynne devoted her life to teaching and inspiring others. She shared her love for language and writing with thousands of students, encouraging them, praying for them, and celebrating their successes. Her dedication was recognized when she was named Wilson County Teacher of the Year in 2001. She taught English at Walter J. Baird Middle School, where she was deeply loved by colleagues and students alike.
In 1984, Lynne met the love of her life, David Harrison, and they soon married. She became a bonus mother, spiritual mentor, and dear friend to his daughter, Wendy, whom she loved as her own.
Lynne’s greatest joy came from her family. She was a beloved Nana to four grandchildren, Isaac, Jonah, Asher, and Annabelle, and a cherished Aunt Lynne to countless nieces and nephews.
Known for her heart of encouragement, Lynne helped found the Notes of Grace card ministry at The Glade Church, which has sent thousands of handwritten notes to the homebound, sick, and elderly. An active member of the church for nearly 40 years, she served faithfully through mission trips, choir, meal deliveries, and every opportunity to share God’s love.
Above all, Lynne was a prayer warrior. If she knew you, she prayed for you. Her faith, kindness, and steadfast spirit touched everyone who crossed her path, and her legacy of love and encouragement will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon. A time of visitation will also take place before the funeral service on Tuesday, beginning at 1:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Glade Church Youth Missions, a ministry close to Lynne’s heart.
Pallbearers will be Scott Street, Isaac Street, Jonah Street, Asher Street, Davis Harrison, Jon Neal Vance, Joe Vance, and Rick Haynes.
