Jaron Ennis made quick work of Uisma Lima in his hometown of Philadelphia on Saturday night.
It was a debut to remember for ‘Boots’ at 154lbs, having moved up from welterweight to super-welterweight for his fight with Lima, with big plans to put on a huge attack on his new division and keep his stunning 35-0 record well intact.

Things went exactly as planned for Ennis, 28, as he simply outclassed Lima from start to finish – even if the fight lasted only two minutes.
Just after the one-minute mark in the opening round, ‘Boots’ stunned Lima with a beautiful uppercut before dropping him with a nasty combination.
Lima made it to his feet, but the onslaught from his American opponent continued, as Ennis put his foot right back on the gas when referee Shawn Clark allowed the fight to continue.
Ennis then came straight back in and wobbled Lima with a series of brutal blows, and seconds later sent the latter crashing to the canvas for the second time.

With one minute to go in the opening round, Lima had found the will to stand up once more, before Ennis pressed him into the corner by the ropes.
Ennis smelt blood, and a strong left followed by a right hook left Clark with no choice but to wave off the fight.
Ennis: I expect Vergil Ortiz next, but I’ll fight anyone
Having been linked to a mega-clash with undisputed 168lbs champion Terence Crawford by promoter Eddie Hearn, ‘Boots’ proceeded to call out pretty much every name in his new 154lbs division after the bout.
After naming Vergil Ortiz as the fight he expects to ‘happen next,’ Ennis also mentioned Jermell Charlo, Xander Zayas, Sebastian Fundora, and Bakhram Murtazaliev as potential future opponents, too.
“Everybody at 154lbs can get it… this is my division, 154lbs is mine,” he concluded.
Chairman of Matchroom Sport Hearn was delighted with his client’s stoppage, and took a swipe at boxing legend Oscar de la Hoya, who promotes Ortiz, 23-0, when he got the chance to speak.

“Line them up and he’ll piece them up, Vergil Ortiz will get destroyed by Jaron Ennis, I will bet the house on it with Oscar de la Hoya,” Hearn said.
“It’s the best fight in boxing in America. It’s a beautiful fight – [Ortiz] is a great fighter, but [Ennis] is on another level.
“I’m telling you, you have got eight to 10 years of greatness from this guy.
“He lives the life – there is nobody like him in boxing. He’s gonna go up [against] anyone – Ortiz, Murtazaliev, Fundora, Zayas – he will destroy them.”
Ennis is now undefeated in 35 pro boxing bouts, having made his debut in the sport in 2016.
He unified the IBF and WBA welterweight titles by stopping Eimantas Stanionis inside the distance six months ago.
