Attention, runners/walkers of all ages: Add to your Pumpkin Festival and Homecoming weekend pleasure by joining the Ukiah High School Cross-Country Team Saturday morning, October 18, for our 17th Annual Yoshaany Rahm Community Harvest Run/Walk races on the beautiful Ukiah High Cross Country Course. Fair weather is forecast for this inspiring event, dedicated to the living memory of our team mate, Yoshaany, who died and passed suddenly in 2008, only weeks after running in the Harvest Festival race.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. The first race starts at 8:30 a.m. – a 1K (half-mile plus a bit) for kids 9 yr. & under. At 8:45: kids 10-14 yr. – 2K (1 – 1/4 miler). The featured 9 a.m. 5K (3+ mile) Run/Walk is for all ages.
Runners ages 14 and under enter free. 15+yr/Adults – $10.
At 10 a.m., stay to watch the highly competitive Yoshanny Rahm Harvest Invitational high school cross country races for girls and boys. The Ukiahi X-C team has been preparing for this home highlight meet since summer, running excellent races here and in Sonoma County this fall. We expect teams ranging from as broadly as Eureka and Oakland.
