ORANGEBURG, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- South Carolina State University is on lockdown after shooting near Hugine Suites, the school confirms.
Details are limited at this time. We do not know yet when the shooting happened or if there are any injuries. Orangeburg Public Safety has asked the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate.
The Homecoming concert scheduled for tonight has been canceled.
Hugine Suites residents who are not in the complex are asked to report to the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center (SHM). Anyone in Hugine, stay put. Other students are asked to return to their rooms. If you are not a current student, the school is asking you not to attempt to come to campus.
