But thanks to the Swedish furniture store’s helpful new service, some of these stresses will hopefully be alleviated.

Life at Home will begin with the roll-out of three new services: home move and setup, energy services and Ikea family credit card.

The services will handle admin tasks such as transferring bills, comparing utilities prices, and redirecting mail, helping to stop Brits becoming overwhelmed when relocating.

Life at Home, which has been created in partnership with Just Move, will also help customers with booking removal services, storage lockers, and cleaners.

Customers will also be aided with the transition to renewable energy suppliers, with the DIY experts to advise providers to make renewable energy “more accessible and affordable”.

Life at Home users will also connect customers with solar panels, heat pumps, and EV charger providers.

Additionally, the Ikea family credit card will allow customers to use flexible payments to spread costs.

Customers will be offered 0% interest on instalment plans for qualifying purchases, and will be able to earn Ikea family reward points for making purchases.

One point will be added to your card for every £5 spent at Ikea, and for every £10 spent at a different business.

When you’ve racked up enough points, you can swap them for free products, discounts and other benefits.

Ikea UKIE customer manager Ashley Hamilton said: “At Ikea, we’ve always been driven by the mission to create a better everyday life for people.

“The Life at Home offering reflects this commitment. It’s a comprehensive collection of services that not only makes life at home more convenient and affordable but also empowers our customers to live more sustainably.

“With solutions that span moving home, energy and financial services, we’re making it easier for our customers to navigate life’s moments and transitions.”

Moving house hacks

1. Declutter Before You Pack

Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.

2. Create an Inventory

Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.

3. Use Quality Packing Materials

Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.

4. Label Everything

Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.

5. Pack a ‘First Day’ Box

Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.

6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup

Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.

7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items

Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.

8. Colour-Code Your Boxes

Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.

There are several hundred deals on offer, with discounts across several of IKEA’s product ranges.

Prices start from just 25p for a measuring cup, a price discount of 50%.

There are also storage boxes for only a £1, that can help maximise the space in cabinets and bookcases

The sale also includes side tables for only £7.

The home furnishings company has also recently started charging for its Click and Collect service, a move which won’t go down well with shoppers.

Customers must pay £2 when they order an item online to collect from a branch, although the service remains free to members of its Family loyalty scheme.
