Sunday Night Football delivered fireworks but no winner, as the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys played to a wild 40-40 tie. Both teams traded field goals in overtime, with Brandon Aubrey giving Dallas the lead before Brandon McManus drilled a 34-yarder as time expired.
Sunday Night Football: Packers 40, Cowboys 40
Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons (1) is introduced before their game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.Packers quarterback Jordan Love had a productive night, throwing for 337 yards and three touchdowns while adding 28 yards on the ground. But Green Bay’s defense — which entered Week 4 as the NFL’s top scoring unit — couldn’t hold up. The Packers gave up 319 yards and three touchdowns to Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and were gashed on the ground at 4.5 yards per carry. It was the second straight week Green Bay blew a double-digit lead, leaving the team searching for answers as they head into their bye.
The Cowboys’ offense looked sharp, led by Prescott’s accuracy and poise. Yet, once again, the defense failed to match the offense’s effort, plagued by missed tackles, penalties, and breakdowns in coverage. It’s the same storyline Dallas fans have seen too often — strong quarterback play wasted by a leaky defense.
Micah Parsons faced his former team for the first time since being traded last month. Parsons managed a sack and three quarterback hits, but Green Bay largely neutralized him. The star pass rusher admitted beforehand he wanted to “wreck the game” and get a measure of payback, but the Packers’ offensive line and quick passing attack limited his impact.
For Green Bay, what once looked like a Super Bowl-caliber team after early wins now feels more like a fringe playoff contender. On the other side of the field, Prescott’s strong play won’t mean much for Dallas unless the defense figures out how to stop giving games away.

The Kansas City Chiefs looked like themselves again on Sunday, thumping the Baltimore Ravens 37-20 at Arrowhead Stadium to climb back into the AFC West race.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was sharp, throwing for 270 yards and four touchdowns without a turnover. His connection with second-year burner Xavier Worthy changed the game. Worthy returned from a shoulder injury to post 83 receiving yards and added 38 more on the ground. His presence stretched Baltimore’s defense and opened up room for tight end Travis Kelce, as well as wideouts JuJu Smith-Schuster and Hollywood Brown to chip in for the win.
On the other side, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson never found a rhythm. Kansas City’s defense sacked him three times, forced two turnovers, and held him to 147 passing yards before a hamstring injury sidelined him in the third quarter. The Ravens slipped to 1-3, putting their playoff hopes in early jeopardy.
The win was massive for Kansas City’s standing in the division. The Chargers’ surprising 21-18 loss to the Giants trimmed L.A.’s cushion, leaving the Chiefs just one game back after what could’ve been a disastrous weekend.
It was also the kind of offensive performance Chiefs fans had been waiting for. The Chiefs scored on seven of their first eight possessions, punted only once, and Mahomes looked comfortable behind a retooled offensive line. The offense finally looked fluid instead of labored — and that’s without top receiver Rashee Rice, who will be eligible to return from suspension in two weeks.

The Brian Daboll–Jaxson Dart era in New York kicked off with a much-needed win. The Giants edged the previously unbeaten Chargers 21-18 on Sunday, snapping an 0-3 start and easing the pressure on their head coach.
Daboll made the bold call midweek to bench Russell Wilson for rookie Jaxson Dart, calling the move “my decision” multiple times. On Sunday, the payoff was immediate. Dart led a quick-strike opening drive and later scored on a 15-yard QB draw, flashing toughness while playing through a hamstring injury and briefly leaving for a concussion check.
“He isn’t going to come out,” Daboll said. “That just shows his grit.”
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart finished 13-for-20 for 111 yards and a touchdown, adding 54 yards and a rushing touchdown on the ground. Dart’s legs extended drives, including a key third-down conversion to Theo Johnson in the final minutes that helped seal the win.
“Me and Dabes just have a special relationship,” Dart said. “He’s the guy that believed in me from Day 1.”
It wasn’t all positive for the Giants in the win. Dart was sacked five times, and top receiver Malik Nabers went down with what’s believed to be a season-ending ACL tear. Still, the Giants’ defense bailed them out with two interceptions that set up short-field scores, and Daboll praised his young quarterback for gutting it out. “I know (Dart) is probably going to be sore,” Daboll said. “But he’s tough, and I’m glad he’s our young quarterback.”
For a day at least, Daboll’s gamble paid off.
