Shannon Sharpe sounds alarm on banged-up Baltimore and rips Ravens for Lamar Jackson emergency plan ...Middle East

The Baltimore Ravens are 1-3 for the first time in a decade, and NFL icon Shannon Sharpe believes things could be about to get even worse.

Franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson picked up a hamstring injury during Sunday’s blowout loss against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Baltimore coach John Harbaugh told reporters after the game that he did not know the severity of the two-time MVP’s issue, as the team fell to their worst NFL start since 2015.

Even before Jackson was relieved by Cooper Rush with the Ravens trailing 30-13 in the third, he had struggled against Steve Spagnuolo’s defense.

Lamar had two turnovers in the first half, and also took three sacks against a Blitz-happy Chiefs unit.

Sharpe, who spent two seasons of his Hall of Fame career with the Ravens, sounded the alarm on his Nightcap podcast in the aftermath of a 37-20 loss.

Ravens ‘not winning’ if star QB sidelined by injury

As well as Jackson, who was forced to offer an apology after shoving a Bills fan earlier this season, four other starters left the Chiefs game with injuries.

Linebacker Roquan Smith, cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins, and offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley were all unable to return at Arrowhead.

Post-game, Harbaugh told reporters he doesn’t believe any of the injuries from Sunday are season-ending, but Sharpe argued that the damage could be done in the next few weeks with Rush filling in at quarterback.

“You think they’re not in trouble?” he asked Nightcap co-host Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson.

“What is Cooper Rush going to do? If Lamar Jackson misses any time, what is Cooper Rush going to do?

“They’re 1-3. In order to get to .500, they got to win two games in a row. So you win two games in a row, that’s .500.

“What happens if you go 1-1? What happens if you go 0-2?

“With Cooper Rush, you’re not winning. Your defense isn’t playing up to standards with Lamar at quarterback.

“What the hell do you think they’re going to do? Cooper Rush is not gonna get you anything with those legs.”

“The only person that thought Cooper Rush was good, was Jerry (Jones).

“Nobody thought he was good, because when he became a free agent, nobody put a bid out there.”

Sharpe and Johnson rip Ravens for Cooper Rush call

As Sharpe tore into Rush, co-host Johnson admitted that the Baltimore’s season ‘could be over’ and that the team is ‘in a lot of trouble’ without their star quarterback.

The pair then questioned why the Ravens picked up a player like Rush to be Jackson’s backup.

“If Lamar Jackson can’t go, they’re going to be dependent (on the defense and Rush),” Sharpe, who went off on C.J. Stroud last week, added.

“I don’t understand why you’d get a guy that’s so vastly different to Lamar. I understand there is no Lamar Jackson, but get something similar.”

Ocho then concluded: “There is nothing similar… that offense has to change drastically, because what Cooper Rush can do is nothing compared to Lamar Jackson.
