The Seattle Seahawks pulled out a 23-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night, winning on a 52-yard field goal from Jason Myers as time expired. Despite the loss for Arizona, Marvin Harrison Jr. had a bounce-back performance.
Thursday Night Football: Seahawks 23, Cardinals 20
Seattle held control for much of the game, but Arizona stormed back late. Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. hauled in a high-point touchdown grab early in the fourth quarter, and quarterback Kyler Murray later tied the game on a short pass to running back Emari Demercado. That set the stage for Sam Darnold, who engineered his first game-winning drive since joining the Seahawks. He finished 18-of-26 for 242 yards and a touchdown, making several clutch throws down the stretch. A back-shoulder completion to Jaxon Smith-Njigba put Seattle in range for the decisive kick.
The Seahawks improved to 3-1 with the win, while the Cardinals fell to 2-2. Seattle likely should not have needed late heroics—its offense stalled on multiple drives into Arizona territory, and its secondary gave up several explosive plays in the final quarter. Still, Darnold and Smith-Njigba delivered when it mattered, with the second-year receiver collecting all 79 of his yards in the second half, including a key 22-yard grab on the final possession.

The Cardinals have yet to play a complete game this season, struggling to establish their running attack and failing to protect Murray, who was sacked six times. Their offense has been inconsistent through four weeks, ranking in the bottom half of the league in both yards and scoring.
Harrison, however, provided one encouraging sign. After a quiet stretch in Weeks 2 and 3, including two drops against San Francisco, the second-year wideout looked more confident. He finished with six catches for 66 yards and a touchdown, a needed boost for both himself and the offense. Still, unless the Cardinals clean up their protection issues and find balance, the flashes from Harrison won’t be enough to turn close losses into wins.

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is embracing his current role while making it clear he feels ready for more. Sitting third on the depth chart behind veteran Joe Flacco and rookie Dillon Gabriel, Sanders has been observing from the sidelines as he adjusts to the NFL. Still, Sanders insists he’s ready to play today if his number is called.
“I don’t think playing or not playing is in my hands,” Sanders told ESPN. “Based on the situation, if things happen (and) things pan out to where I play, then I’ll be out there and I’ll be ready to play. I’m ready to play right now.”
Sanders’ comments came shortly after his father, Deion Sanders, appeared on the New Heights podcast and suggested young quarterbacks don’t learn much by sitting on the bench. While Shedeur didn’t directly respond to his father’s remarks, he didn’t hide his confidence in his own ability. “I know if you see the quarterback play in the league right now, I know I’m capable of doing better than that,” he said.

I would say, it’s just funny to me, that’s it. It’s just funny to me, and I enjoy it.”
So far, Sanders has served as the Browns’ emergency quarterback on game days, sitting behind Flacco and Gabriel. Cleveland signed Flacco to a one-year deal just before the 2025 NFL Draft, then drafted Gabriel in the third round and Sanders in the fifth. While Gabriel has only attempted three passes — completing all of them, including one for a touchdown — Flacco has been heavily relied upon early, tying for the league lead in attempts with 126.
On New Heights, Deion Sanders expressed confidence that his son will eventually get his shot this season. Whether or not that opportunity comes in 2025 remains uncertain, but Shedeur is clear on where he stands: he’s ready whenever his number is called.

The Washington Commanders will be without two key offensive starters when they face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels and veteran wide receiver Terry McLaurin have both been ruled out.
Marcus Mariota will make his second straight start under center in Daniels’ absence. Quinn said the young quarterback is making progress, but hasn’t yet received medical clearance to return. “He’s working incredibly hard, around the clock, to get back. Ultimately, doctors haven’t cleared him yet. He’s doing everything he can,” Quinn said.
McLaurin’s absence is another major blow to Washington’s offense. Both he and Daniels could return as soon as next week, according to Quinn, but their status will depend on how they respond over the coming days.
Quinn also noted that tight end John Bates and wide receiver Noah Brown have been ruled out for Sunday’s game, leaving the Commanders thin at multiple skill positions as they prepare to take on Atlanta.
