The Miramar Air Show returns to San Diego Friday, bringing three days of high-energy aerial performances and plenty of on-the-ground excitement.
The largest military air show at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar will proceed through Sunday rain or shine.
Head out early if you plan to go, as there will most likely be traffic in and around the MCAS Miramar, which is located at Miramar Road, San Diego.
Traffic backs up on the I-15 around the Miramar area.
Law enforcement usually has signs on the side of the freeway not to stop/park there temporarily to watch the show; if you do, you might get ticketed.
Planning
Getting to the show requires some planning. Public transportation does not service the event, but rideshare options such as Uber and Lyft are available, with pickup and drop-off at the McDonald’s parking lot on Mitscher Way and Elrod Avenue. Rideshare vehicles will not be allowed onto the flight line, according to the show’s website.
For those driving, parking is free.
Visitors will be directed to the closest available lot upon entering the MCAS Miramar gates, and shuttle service is provided from all parking areas to the flight line.
What to see
This year’s lineup includes the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, a U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor demo, an MV-22 Osprey demo, and the USS Socom Paracommandos.
Civilian pilots Vicky Benzing and Aarron Deliu will also take to the skies with their own crowd-pleasing routines.

On the ground, visitors can check out static displays of military and civilian aircraft, along with the Air Show Expo, which highlights aviation products and industry exhibits.
General admission and parking are free, but “preferred” seating is available for purchase at eventsprout.com/event/2025-mcas-sd-ca.
While tickets aren’t required, anyone 18 and older must present a government-issued ID to enter. Non-U.S. citizens or those without legal permanent residency will need a passport.
Gates open at 8 a.m. each day, so come early and get ready to look up—the Miramar Air Show is set to light up the skies all weekend long.
