(KRON) — An 80-year-old woman from Felton was killed in a head-on-crash on Highway 9 in the Ben Lomond area of Santa Cruz County Saturday.
The victim was driving northbound in a red, 1967 Volkswagen Beetle when the bug collided head-on with a silver 2006 Toyota Sequoia headed in the opposite direction, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash happened at about 8:20 a.m., south of Brackney Road.
Petaluma woman faces prison for chicken rescue“For reasons still under investigation, both vehicles collided head-on,” CHP said. “As a result of the crash, the driver of the Volkswagen sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel, despite life-saving efforts. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.”
