The Toffees felt aggrieved at numerous points in the Merseyside derby as referee England prevented them from taking a couple of quick free-kicks.
Moyes was seen raging at the fourth official and gesticulating with England during the second-half, particularly after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was shown a bizarre yellow card for taking a set-piece before the whistle.
Meanwhile, Jack Grealish went into the referee’s book for his protests at full-time.
However, there was little controversy around any of the goals as Liverpool raced into a two-goal lead.
Ryan Gravenberch scored an excellent first-half volley before turning creator for Hugo Ekitike.
Everton came out firing in the second-half and halved the deficit through Idrissa Gueye.
And despite plenty of second-half pressure, Liverpool held on to ensure Moyes remains winless in 23 games at Anfield.
The Reds are still the only team with a 100 per cent record in the Premier League this season.
