Altadena Jobs Center launched by LA County for fire survivors ...Middle East

The Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity this week announced the opening of the Altadena Job Center at the Altadena One-Stop Permit Center.

It will serve as a satellite site of the America’s Job Center of California and provide no-cost employment, training and business services to residents and employers with direct support for displaced workers, youth and small businesses impacted by the Eaton fire.

“The Altadena Job Center reflects a deep commitment to meeting our community needs at the right level and at the right location,” Kelly LoBianco, director of the Department of Economic Opportunity said in a statement. “We’re making sure people have all the necessary access to the County personnel and tools they need, whether they’re searching for a new job, rebuilding after the fire, or looking to grow their business.”

The center offers one-on-one career counseling, resume and interview prep, job training, temporary paid work experience and job placement services. Those ages 14-24 can enroll in Youth@Work to participate in 160 hours of hands on paid work experiences with local businesses, nonprofits and government agencies.

The Altadena One-Stop Permit Center is located at 464 W Woodbury Road, Ste. 210. The job center will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Services are free and both walk-in or scheduled appointments will be accepted.
