CHICAGO BEARS INACTIVES — The Chicago Bears list of inactive players is OUT … but the good news is that defensive tackle Grady Jarrett is IN.
Jarrett, who is in the first season of a multi-year free-agency deal with the team, missed a pair of practices with a knee injury and was listed as questionable on the final injury report ahead of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. However, Jarrett is not listed among the inactives for Sunday. Phew. That is a welcome sign, especially since the Lions boast a powerful running game with the Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery tag team.
Here are the Bears inactives for Week 2:
Cornerback Kyler Gordon Quarterback Case Keenum Wide receiver Jahdae Walker Offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie Offensive lineman Ozzy Trapilo Defensive lineman Shemar Turner May 10, 2025; Lake Forest, IL, USA; Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson talks with offensive lineman (75) Ozzy Trapilo during rookie minicamp at Halas Hall. Mandatory Credit: David Banks-Imagn ImagesThis might be a post for early in the week after the dust settles on the Week 2 Bears-Lions matchup, but it is unsettling to see that two of the team’s three second-round picks are healthy scratches this early in the season. For what it’s worth, I can understand why Turner might not be ready to go after suffering a training camp injury that put his developmental cycle behind his teammates. But Trapilo spent most of the summer battling for the starting left tackle position. It is unnerving to think about going from being a potential starter to inactive in the span of a few weeks. But we can tackle that topic later this week.

As for the Lions, left tackle Taylor Decker *WILL* suit up against the Bears on Sunday. Decker’s status seemed to be up in the air because he has been dealing with a shoulder injury. But for the second consecutive week, the Pro Bowl offensive tackle will get on the field. Joining him in going from being listed as questionable to play on Sunday to getting the green light is safety Kerby Joseph, who has been dealing with a knee issue.
