For the second year in a row, WeldWerks Brewing Co. will host its outdoor mural festival next week.
The WeldWerks Mural Festival starts Tuesday and ends with a community celebration Saturday, Sept. 20, across various downtown locations.
Public viewings of the artists working on the murals are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday at the mural locations. The community mural unveiling is from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at WeldWerks, 508 8th Ave., Greeley. There will be family fun activities, a yoga class led by Balanced Movement Yoga, meet and greets with the artists and more.
This year’s festival features new artists and locations. The brewery will host art with other downtown locations including Goal High School, B&H Body Shop, the Lincoln Park Art Alley and Northern Engineering.
This year’s festival brings in local, Colorado and national artists. Last year’s inaugural festival featured more than 15 artists who painted murals on buildings next to WeldWerks.
Katelynn Mai-Fusco, Medy Reckling, Lydia Cruz and the Blackbox Arts Collective are based in Greeley. Nicholas Ward and Chelsea Lewinski are Colorado artists, and Kevin Cincotta is a New York artist. The University of Northern Colorado’s School of Art and Design and Chappelow Arts Magnet School are other collaborators.
Renowned local artist Armando Silva and Briana Harris, artist manager and creative entrepreneur, founded the festival with a mission to make downtown Greeley a hub for public art.
