Channing Tatum loves spending quality time watching anime with 12-year-old daughter Everly.
“We love [Demon Slayer],” Tatum, 45, said while walking the red carpet for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle on Tuesday, September 9, in Hollywood. “We’ve been watching this for so long.”
Everly added that she and her dad have been fans of the Demon Slayer franchise since the “start.” Tatum then asked his daughter what she liked best about the anime.
“I think it’s beautifully made and has an incredible story line,” she said. “I love anime, like, in general. So it’s like, beautifully animated, I guess.”

Tatum echoed that Everly is drawn to the anime’s “art” and gushed about how talented she is.

When Tatum was announced to join the project last month, a press release stated that the actor “discovered his love of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and anime through watching the series with his daughter.”
Tatum and Dewan, 44, wed in July 2009 and welcomed their daughter in June 2013. They announced in April 2018 that they had separated after nine years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in September 2024 and they share 50/50 custody of their daughter.

Following their split, Dewan and Tatum have prioritized coparenting Everly.
“It’s always a journey. It never ends,” Dewan told Romper in a January interview about her navigating coparenting with Tatum. “You just learn as you go and get better at certain things, and for me, Evie will always be my top priority. I just continually put her first. That’s how I can manage all hard things.”
Tatum, for his part, has been candid about taking an interest in Everly’s passions.
“I know that I like d to act and play make-believe and magical things, but I just didn’t know if I was going to be able to meet her on her level,” he told VMan magazine in February 2022, noting that he eventually realized he had to “go into her world and do whatever that is that [Everly] wanted” him to do.
