At least two students were shot Wednesday at Evergreen High School, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said. 

Officials said they were responding to an “active assailant” near the Jefferson County school.

The county’s dispatch center reported the assailant near the high school at 29300 Buffalo Park Rd., calling it an active scene at about 12:40 p.m. 

Officials asked parents to avoid the high school and to pick up their students at Wilmont Elementary School at 5124 S. Hatch Drive.
