According to the Chicago Fire Department, a man was shot near Madison and State Streets around lunchtime Wednesday and was transported to a nearby hospital. His condition wasn’t immediately known.
An alert on the CTA website at 12:01 p.m. said trains on the Blue Line were bypassing the Washington stop “due to police activity.”
