AN investigation has been launched after a car dealership was bulldozed earlier this year – with authorities concerned it was knocked down illegally.

Etone Motors, a long-standing Suzuki specialist, was once located on Attleborough Road, Nuneaton.

But after several years and numerous happy customers, the site was levelled after the firm moved to a new home nearby.

The building briefly became a tackle shop before it was unexpectedly bulldozed.

According to CoventryLive, questions have been raised about the future of the plot with only a skeleton structure remaining.

And now, Nuneaton Borough Council is claiming no official permission was given for its demolition – forcing them to launch a Town Hall investigation into the incident.

A council spokesman said: “Permission was not applied for or granted by the council for the demolition of the buildings on 45 Attleborough Road.

“This is currently under investigation by the council’s planning enforcement team.”

As per the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, permission to demolish an existing building must first be sought from the relevant authorities.

Anyone who breaches these regulations may end up in court – with the potential for an unlimited fine.

Car Dealer Mag added that there are currently no live planning applications relating to the former Etone Motors site.

The most recent submission dates back to 2022, when the dealership was given the green light to install new signage.

Etone Motors has been highly praised in online reviews.

One such comment from 2021 said: “My family and myself have been using Etone Motors for many years.

“We have always been more than impressed with the service and friendliness of the staff.”

Another from added: “Excellent servicing by an experienced mechanic; great deals on used Suzukis. Happy customer for 12 years, and counting.”

This comes as a supercar dealership in Uxbridge, London, is urgently negotiating with investors in a bid to navigate mounting financial challenges.

But all the while, frustrated customers have been desperately attempting to reclaim their vehicles.

GVE London is well known for its social media presence, especially on TikTok, where it has over 1.5 million followers.

But a recent report claims the outlet has filed a Notice of Intention to Appoint Administrators (NOI) with the High Court – a legal step that allows them to temporarily halt enforcement actions from creditors.
