San Diego County will see more widespread showers and thunderstorms through Wednesday as monsoonal moisture spreads from the coastal foothills to the deserts, according to the National Weather Service.
High temperatures Wednesday are expected to reach 76 to 81 near the coast, 84 to 89 inland, 89 to 94 in the western valleys, 81 to 89 in the mountains and around 100 in the deserts, the NWS said.
Areas west of the mountains can expect warmer, humid conditions through midweek. By Thursday, a cooling and drying trend is expected across the region.
Chances for monsoonal thunderstorms will be minimal by the weekend into early next week, with temperatures holding near seasonal averages, forecasters said.
The rain chances continue tomorrow, with the highest chances being over the mountains. Lightning, gusty and erratic winds, and brief, heavy rainfall will all be possible. pic.twitter.com/Y90YQw45Ds
