Jordyn Tyson lived up to his preseason All-America billing against Northern Arizona, racking up 12 catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns in Arizona State’s 38-19 win.
The big game earned Tyson the honor of Offensive Player of the Week from the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Tyson’s 12 catches are tied for fourth in the nation after Week 1, while two of the players ahead of Tyson have already played an extra game in Week 0 this season.
His two touchdowns are also tied for fourth in the country with two players ahead of him having an extra game played as well.
Jordyn Tyson sparks the ASU offense
He was one of the main catalysts for an ASU team that had some sloppy moments and had to rely on a fake punt in the first quarter to jumpstart the offense in the win.

His 12 touches were good for second on the team, one behind running back Kyson Brown who had seven carries and six catches.
Tyson also finished just four all-purpose yards behind Brown’s 145 (73 rushing, 72 receiving).
Not his first rodeo
Tyson was named to the AP preseason All-America first team and the ESPN preseason All-America second team.
He was also named to the Walter Camp preseason All-America second team.
ASU raids SEC country
ASU faces a much tougher challenge on the road in Week 2 against Mississippi State (1-0).
The Bulldogs beat Southern Miss 34-17 in Week 1, holding the Golden Eagles to 199 yards passing.
