The actor, 54, was recently nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch in the HBO Max medical drama The Pitt. Wyle is also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series as he is also an executive producer on the series.
During the HBO Max Nominee Celebration in Hollywood on Aug. 17, Wyle told People he was "overwhelmed" by his nominations for The Pitt.
"I'm a little different when it hits. It's hitting an older man, that's for sure," Wyle said. "And one who's been around now for 30 years and done a lot of different things and has sort of... I'm overwhelmed by this."
Wyle credits John Wells, show runner and executive producer of ER and creator of The Pitt, for guiding him throughout his decades long career.
The Pitt season 2 is currently in production in Los Angeles and is scheduled to premiere in January 2026 on HBO Max.
