SAN JOSE — A vehicle driven by an allegedly drunk driver crashed into a downtown building Thursday night, authorities said.
The driver of the vehicle was “heavily intoxicated” and the incident is being investigated as a collision due to driving under the influence, according to the San Jose Police Department.
Officers responded to the collision, which was on the 50 block of Post Street, around 10:43 p.m., authorities said.
Authorities found an adult male driver and an adult female passenger, both of whom suffered severe injuries. An update on their condition was not available Friday afternoon.

Officers found in their preliminary investigation that the passenger was also heavily intoxicated. They added there is no evidence that the collision was intentional.
