ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The “unofficial end of summer” will be a spectacular one across the Rochester and Finger Lakes regions! High pressure moving in will sit over us all weekend long, almost guaranteeing us dry weather with lots of sunshine. The only chance of a shower will be Saturday, with the slight chance of a pop up shower as an upper level low moves away. Otherwise, expect dry weather. Saturday will be the coolest day, with highs in the upper 60s to near 70, after starting near 50. Sunday should warm into the mid 70s after a cool morning in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Labor Day itself will be the warmest day of the weekend, with highs in the mid to upper 70s, once again under a mostly sunny sky.
Just because the weekend ends, doesn’t mean the nice weather does! In fact, we’ll keep the sunshine around into Tuesday with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Wednesday will likely be the warmest, with highs into the lower 80s. Our next chance of rain arrives on Thursday with a slow moving cold front, followed by another shot of very fall-like air to end next week and kick off the weekend. For kids heading back to school next week, umbrellas or rain coats may be necessary on Thursday. Otherwise, it’ll be shorts and t-shirts with summer-like temperatures to kick off a new school year.
