Money raised at the annual Summer Social, held Aug. 9 at Pelican Lakes in Windsor, will fund innovative classroom grants, scholarships, items for the family resource cabinet and staff resources and tools to “inspire creativity and excellence in education,” according to a Weld RE-4 Education Foundation news release.
Attended by community members, educators and local businesses, the event included live and silent auctions, live entertainment by Grey Madderz and “meaningful connections,” the release said.
“This event shines a spotlight on our community’s passion for education and the future it creates for our students,” foundation Executive Director Kelly Moll said in the release.
The Weld RE-4 Education Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting education in the Windsor, Severance and west Greeley communities, funds innovation, scholarships and classroom resources to ensure every student has the tools needed to thrive, according to the release. The foundation thanked its sponsors, donors, volunteers and attendees for a successful Summer Social this year.
“The generosity shown ensures more opportunities for our students and more support for our incredible teachers,” foundation Board President Tina Martinez said.
