College Swim League — Match Three
October 2, 2026 Stanford, California — Avery Aquatic Center SCY (25 Yards) Heat Sheet Live Stream How to Watch Rules Starts at 8:30 PM ET Teams: #3/#5 Cal, #8/#9 Stanford, #11/#15 Ohio State, #21/#21 AuburnWelcome to the 3rd match of the 2026 College Swim League! Today’s meet will be at the Avery Aquatic Center in Stanford, California, which means it will be late one, starting at 8:30 pm ET.
Today’s meet features three teams that are racing for the first time — Cal, Stanford, and Auburn — and one team that has already swum a CSL match — Ohio State. The Buckeyes might have a slight advantage coming in since they know exactly what to expect from the lineup and format.
Power Rankings
The teams fall in the same order on our Power Rankings whether you are looking at the women’s or men’s rankings. The #3/#5 Cal Golden Bears team is the highest ranked team, and will probably be the favorite to win the match. This will be the first time we get to see Baylor Stanton racing for Cal and all eyes will be on the #1 ranked recruit from the class. Cal also picked up the fastest male sprinter in the class of 2026 in Jordan Ragland, who could be a massive point scorer today. Notably absent from Cal’s roster are Claire Weinstein and Rylee Erisman. This would have been Erisman’s first meet for the Golden Bears.
Stanford is coming into the meet ranked #8 and #9 in our Power Rankings, and this will be the Cardinal women’s first time racing without Torri Huske on the roster. The women picked up some strong freshmen to help bridge that gap, and the men’s program has been moving up in recent years and they will be looking to build on that momentum this season.
Ohio State comes next in the rankings at #11 and #15 for the women and men respectively. They are currently ranked 7th in the CSL after they finished 4th at their 1st match against Indiana, Louisville, and Michigan, which was good for one point. They have a leg up today since they can adjust their lineups based on what they know worked and what didn’t in their first meet. It will be crucial for them to avoid getting Jackpotted in scores if they want to compete with the teams at the top.
Auburn has an uphill climb this evening with both teams coming in ranked #21. They have a strong freshman sprinter in Mike Rice, which we learned last week can make a big impact, especially with the skins races. If the winner of the 200 freestyle relay picks a skins event that is in Rice’s wheelhouse, Auburn could pick up some big points. They also picked up Alexey Glivinsky as a transfer from Texas as another strong addition.

Jackpots happen when the athlete who wins beats any of the athletes by a predetermined amount outlined in the rules here. The winner steals the points of all athletes who they beat by the margin.
If they only beat the 8th place athlete by the designated amount, they will earn 10 points. If they beat the 7th and 8th place athletes, they will earn 12 points etc. We will do our best to track it in the live recap, but the meet moves fast.

Women’s
200 breast: With Stanford graduating their top 200 breaststroker after NCAAs, Lucy Thomas and Addie Robillard will be trying to step into the open role and most of the heat swam the event at the 2026 NCAAs. 200 fly: Caroline Bricker and Charlotte Hook will both be racing the 200 fly after they were a little off in the event last season. 100 free: Annam Olasewere and Rachel Bockrath will take on the 100 freestyle after both finishing in the top-20 at the 2026 NCAAs. 200 IM: Mia West and Caroline Bricker are both very strong 200 IMers, though Bricker was not able to swim the event last year due to the NCAA schedule change. West finished 3rd in 2026 and Bricker finished 5th in 2025 at NCAAs.Men’s
200 back: We learned last week that the first few events are fast with the athletes being completely fresh. Ethan Ekk and Cornelius Jahn were both NCAA scorers in the event last year and Cal’s Humberto Najera and Baylor Stanton will also be in the mix 200 breast: NCAA Champion Yamato Okadome will be the favorite to win both breaststroke events, but Stanford’s Daniel Li beat him head-to-head when they raced in a dual meet last January. 200 fly: Cal’s Casper Puggaard and Stanford’s Gibson Holmes finished 15th and 16th in the 200 fly at NCAAs, and will be racing in the event again this evening. 200 free: Ryan Erisman, Keaton Jones, and Henry McFadden will be racing in the 200 free with McFadden and Jones both being NCAA ‘A’ finalists in the event and Erisman coming off a very strong summer.SwimSwam’s Prediction
This seems to be Cal’s match to lose, though the Stanford Cardinal could earn the win. This is especially true when taking the way Cal typically performs during the season into account. This is the first time they are participating in a meet like this, but the Golden Bears are very well known to underperform until the final meet of the year.
SwimSwam is still predicting Cal to win and Stanford to come in 2nd. Ohio State is the favorite for 3rd, especially when considering they have already done this once before.
